About
Welcome to the Madministratum, a blog devoted to exploring the nutty grotty nitty gritty details of Warhammer 40,000 as a setting, and the history of its lore and how it has developed over time.
You will find posts which take a deep-dive into various topics, offering extensive engagement with the published lore of 40k (and other GW games when relevant) as well as other relevant materials, analysis of key themes and aspects of worldbuilding, and surveys of how and why the lore has changed over the decades.
In particular, the blog will focus on the internal dynamics of the Imperium and how it functions, especially the more grimdark elements. So, if you are interested in topics like political in-fighting, religious zealotry, corpse-starch and Servitors, this might just be the place for you.
There are also posts which comprehensively assess the evidence to set the record straight about various instances of misinformation, fanon, and erroneous forms of conventional wisdom which suffuse the Warhammer fandom.
You may have noticed that the title of the blog is riffing on the Administratum. Well, here at the Madministratum we aim to outdo those Imperial lackeys. While they have trillions of Adepts, we have... well, me. Not quite an infinite number of monkeys bashing away on an infinite number of typewriters, but I do my best.
But I promise that this blog will bring you the best of times and the blurst of times, and that there will be fewer catastrophic mistakes, egregious falsehoods, and incidents of censorship of information than is the case at the Administratum. And no Servitor labour has been used in the making of this blog.
Your humble scribe,
Adept Twelfmonkey
